Shawn Harkey

Shawn is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds a M.H.A. from Trinity University.

Shawn comes to RCA with a long history in healthcare. He has navigated physician practice management, strategic planning and has extensive consulting experience having spent time at Ernst & Young.
Shawn takes the helm as Senior Vice President of Strategy & Physician Recruitment and will draw on his experience leading large retina practices for the past 10+ years. Shawn will continue to utilize his vast understanding of the retina field in developing partnerships within the pharmaceutical and distribution industry. In addition to this, he will also be networking with the top fellowship programs supporting RCA affiliated practices in their recruitment of new fellows with the highest training in tandem with connecting with retina specialists already in practice across the country.

He excels in communicating the vision and motivating team members to bring out the best in his team and develop their skillsets professionally. At Retina Consultants of Texas, he made an impact by continuously finding efficiencies and identifying opportunities for system growth and market positions while showcasing skill in fiscal and operational management. He has served on pharmaceutical advisory boards including Genentech & Regeneron and has presented at multiple national conferences including ASRS and at the NextGen User Group Meeting.

Shawn has been published in several major retina and ophthalmology publications including being a co-author in the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
