Four RCA Physicians selected to List of Premier Physicians

Retina Consultants of America (RCA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey Gross, Dr. Lloyd Clark, Dr. John Payne, and Dr. Barron Fishburne have been selected to the Columbia Metropolitan Magazine list of Premier Physicians.

Columbia Metropolitan Magazine started publishing this reader-selected list in 2019, and it recognizes the best doctors in the Midlands region of South Carolina. When assembling this list each year, the magazine asks its readers to select physicians "based on quality of overall care, skill and expertise, convenience, availability for appointments, as well as bedside manner and compassion."

All four physicians practice at Palmetto Retina Center and have appeared on this list previously. Dr. Gross founded Carolina Retina Center and has been awarded the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award. Dr. Clark is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and is a guest speaker for many national and international events.

Dr. Payne is actively involved in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has presented research at meetings throughout the country. Dr. Fishburne has spoken about retinal diseases for many organizations and specializes in surgery of the retina and the vitreous.

Palmetto Retina Center was founded in 1991 and recently partnered with Carolina Retina Center in collaboration to extend excellent patient care throughout the region.
