On January 12, 2020, Retina Consultants of America (RCA) held its third virtual case conference as part of an ongoing series to further educate and collaborate among its esteemed group of physicians.

This case conference also provided CE credits and kicked off the first session in 2021. Our next case grand rounds conference will be on February 9, 2021. RCA is governed by a Medical Leadership Board that is co-chaired by Joel Pearlman, MD, PhD and David M. Brown, MD. We had great participation and each grand rounds continues to gain attendance and popularity. We welcomed Drs. Keye Wong and John Niffenegger as our newest additions as well as our South Carolina practice.

The session started with Pearls from Dr. Pearlman, "Be safe, wear a mask and please get the vaccine!"

Dr. Dante Pieramici presented the first case about extreme retinal non profusion and retinal capillary loss due to an autoimmune disease.

Dr. Larry Halperin followed up with a case study on a 69-year-old male with uveitis after the removal of the scleral buckle in the right eye.

The grand rounds were engaging and insightful with the top leaders in retinal care, hearing these minds share best practices, challenge one another on procedures and treatments and find unique solutions.
