Doctor Mavrofrides holds a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Florida and earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed an internship and an ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Following residency training, Dr. Mavrofrides completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Ranked #1 Eye Hospital in the USA, Miami, FL.

Doctor Mavrofrides joined Florida Retina Institute in August, 2004.
